Borussia Dortmund Thrash Real Madrid 4-1 in Champions League Semi-Final

Lewandowski Masterclass Inspires Stunning Victory

Dortmund, Germany

Borussia Dortmund produced a stunning performance to thrash Real Madrid 4-1 in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final on Wednesday. Robert Lewandowski was the star of the show, scoring four goals for the German side.

The match started brightly for Dortmund, with Lewandowski opening the scoring in the eighth minute with a close-range tap-in. Cristiano Ronaldo equalized for Real Madrid in the 43rd minute, but Lewandowski restored Dortmund's lead in the 50th minute with a towering header. Real Madrid looked stunned, and Dortmund took full advantage of their dominance by adding two more goals in quick succession. Lewandowski completed his hat-trick in the 55th minute with a delightful finish, and then converted a penalty in the 67th minute to put Dortmund well in control of the tie.

Real Madrid's chances of reaching the final were dealt a further blow when Sergio Ramos was sent off for a second yellow card in the 84th minute. Dortmund will now take a comfortable lead into the second leg at the Bernabeu next week.

The victory was a major upset, but it was richly deserved for Dortmund. The German side played with intensity and purpose throughout the match, and Lewandowski was simply unstoppable. Real Madrid will need to produce a special performance in the second leg to overturn the deficit.
