Borussia Dortmund Advance to Champions League Quarter-Finals
Sancho and Reus Lead Dortmund to 2-0 Victory Over PSV Eindhoven
Dortmund, Germany - March 13, 2023 (Reuters)
WEB Borussia Dortmund reached the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time in three years, thanks to a 2-0 victory over PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday night. Jadon Sancho and Marco Reus scored the goals to give Dortmund a 3-1 aggregate win over the Dutch side.
Sancho opened the scoring in the 29th minute when he finished off a fine team move involving Reus and Erling Haaland. Reus made it 2-0 just before half-time with a stunning strike from outside the area.
PSV started the second half brightly and had a few chances to get back into the game, but Dortmund held firm to secure the victory and a place in the last eight of the competition.
Dortmund will now face either Manchester City or Sporting Lisbon in the quarter-finals, with the draw set to take place on Friday.
