Olmo Schnabel's "Pet Shop Days" Premieres
Romantic Thriller Garners Attention
Directorial Debut Explores Young Misadventures
British romantic thriller drama "Pet Shop Days" (formerly known as "Pet Shop Boys") has made its debut. Written by Jack Irv Olmo Schnabel and Galen Core, the film marks Schnabel's directorial debut and features a cast of notable actors.
Known for his work in "At Eternity's Gate" (2018) and "Before Night Falls" (2000), Schnabel's latest venture explores the misspent youth of two young men. Described as a "scrappy urban tale," "Pet Shop Days" employs a blown-out, stolen-shot 16mm aesthetic.
According to director Olmo Schnabel, he intends to evoke strong reactions from viewers, stating, "People can agree or disagree, love it or hate it, I just want them to react."
