Scotland Beat Israel in Dramatic World Cup Qualifier

McTominay's Last-Minute Goal Secures Victory

Scotland's World Cup qualifying campaign got off to a thrilling start on Saturday evening as they came from behind twice to beat Israel 3-2 at Hampden Park.

Scott McTominay was the hero for the Scots, heading home a dramatic winner deep into stoppage time.

Israel had taken the lead twice in the first half through Eran Zahavi and Manor Solomon, but Scotland hit back through Lyndon Dykes and John McGinn.

Che Adams missed a penalty for Scotland in the second half, but McTominay's late intervention ensured that Scotland got off to a winning start in Group F.

The victory was a much-needed boost for Scotland, who had failed to qualify for a major tournament since the 1998 World Cup.

They will now face Austria in their next qualifier on Tuesday night.
