In response to protests against COVID-19, Calgary Mayor Jyoti Gondek has urged law enforcement to take more aggressive measures against demonstrators. This request follows the announcement by the Calgary Police Service (CPS) that it will begin limiting comments on its Twitter account.

The CPS stated that it will disable comments on certain Twitter posts beginning Thursday. The decision was made in an effort to "maintain a safe and respectful online environment" and to prevent the spread of misinformation.
