Unlike its EU counterpart, which rolled out the world's first legally binding AI regulation in 2023, Southeast Asia has taken a business-centric approach to AI regulation.
From phones that can detect deepfake scams to autonomous intelligent vehicles, the disruptive potential of AI is immense. Southeast Asia is on track for an over 35x uptick in AI spending, which is projected to rise from $1.4 billion in 2022 to $50 billion by 2026.
