Edmonton Oilers Fall in Overtime to Arizona Coyotes

Oilers Drop Hard-Fought Battle in Shootout

Recap:

The Edmonton Oilers fell to the Arizona Coyotes in a heartbreaking overtime loss on Friday night at Rogers Place. The Oilers battled hard and came within inches of securing their second straight victory before the Coyotes ultimately prevailed in a thrilling shootout.

The Oilers opened the scoring in the first period with a power-play goal from Connor McDavid. However, the Coyotes answered back in the second period with a goal from Clayton Keller. The game remained tied throughout the third period and into overtime, where the Coyotes eventually emerged victorious.

The Oilers put up a valiant effort, outshooting the Coyotes 38-26. However, Arizona's goaltender Karel Vejmelka stood tall, making several key saves throughout the game. McDavid led the Oilers with a goal and an assist, while Leon Draisaitl added two assists.

With the loss, the Oilers fall to 26-19-6 on the season. They will look to bounce back on Saturday night when they face the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Place.
